She used to play basketball in high school, but it wasn't her passion any longer. Her ambition was to pursue dance, although she had no idea it was a profession at the moment.
So she stopped basketball and did an early audition for AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy), a performing arts college in Hollywood... She was, however, turned down. She expressed her disappointment by saying, "She felt crushed."
She was instructed to practice, train diligently, and return when she was a senior. She auditioned her senior year (after a hard year of training at a studio called Murrieta Dance Project) and was fortunate enough to have the same panel of judges. One of the key teachers recognized me and expressed surprise at her progress and acceptance.
She was ecstatic when she got to AMDA in the fall of 2013. She battled a lot during her three years at AMDA (where she did year-round schooling) and began to believe that dancing wasn't for her.
They studied ballet, modern dance, tap dance, jazz, and other forms of dance, but her passion was hip hop. As a result, she never felt at ease. She began taking outside courses at local studios after a while and rediscovered her love for dancing.
In October of 2017, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Theatre. To keep a solid employment after school, she went to Dave and Buster's. After some time had gone, her representative notified her of a Jason Derulo audition. There were probably 800 girls who turned up because it was an open call, and he only chose two. One of the two was her... the rest, as they say, is history.

Heading out to China tonight and this couldn’t represent my mood any better... the stage is my happy place 🥰 I started dancing for @jasonderulo in August of 2017 and it’s been life changing. I’ve learned SO much about myself and about performing through this job ( thanks for throwing so much knowledge in my face @thejeremystrong ... I don’t take all the credit haha) but what I LOVE about being able to grow and understand different parts of industry work, and being on camera, and artist interaction is that I don’t have to keep it to myself!!!! I teach weekly so that people can learn what it’s like or know what to expect BEFORE being in these situations. I want to help prepare people so they aren’t lost when they start a major job, but confident and able to shine their brightest light. As a teacher now... and for teachers out there already... we have this amazing platform to give knowledge!!!
